LJK Drivers

The labor market for top-notch tractor-trailer drivers is at historically tight levels. Equipment is sitting and loads are being refused by a large number of truckload carriers because of the driver shortage. To attract and retain superior drivers, LJK offers a superior benefits and pay package. Equipment is speced with the driver in mind. Home time is superior to industry standards. In the coming years, the success or failure of many carriers will depend upon their ability to attract and retain safe, reliable drivers, and Kennedy is no exception.

Employee benefits vary by terminal, but drivers generally receive the following benefits:

· Health benefits, with below average employee contributions
· 401K Plan
· Competitive Vacation and Holiday schedules

Our professional drivers are among the most skilled on America's roads today, thanks to an unwavering commitment to continuous training and superior hiring standards. Our driver-turnover rate of 42% is amongst the lowest in our industry, and the trend is improving.

As of December 2009, LJK employed the following number of drivers:

174 Company Drivers
26 Owner Operators

To add to our driver ranks, we have recently initiated a program that permits us to recruit drivers from outside of our normal terminal areas -- these new additions to our team are referred to as system drivers, because they drive throughout the LJK system service area.

These new drivers are quite skilled and help us to grow in many ways:

1. They expand the pool of available talent dramatically, which improves our fleet utilization and our potential to expand.

2. The system drivers allow us to hire drivers in areas where new customers are located, allowing us to move quickly to meet sudden demand shifts.
