LJK
Strategy
LJK attracts and retains the loyalty and interest of building materials
shippers that have time-sensitive freight. While we must remain economically
competitive, from a rate perspective, low pricing is NOT the key weapon
in our marketing arsenal. Our clients rely on us to be their "competitive
edge" -- we are a vital part of their marketing mix. Here's why:
Most of our customers sell products regarded as commodities. Differences
in product quality and price are generally negligible. The ability to
respond quickly, to take orders on short-notice and to deliver reliably
is the determinant of who gets the order and who doesn't. Our size allows
us to respond to diverse customer needs with the assets and resources
necessary to get the job done.
We are able to ship large quantities of freight on short notice in a
reliable fashion. This gives us a competitive edge, in addition to our
ability to legally haul 52,000# loads, something that most of our
competitors cannot do. (Our equipment is speced lighter than our competitors'
equipment. This allows us to maximize payload and to haul more weight
per trailer, which lowers our customer's cost per hundredweight, sometimes by as much as 10%).
Another unique advantage offered by LJK is our ability to provide shippers
with drivers affiliated with the Teamsters Union when necessary. For
customers shipping to jobsites in the New York metropolitan area, our
union affiliation is a godsend. (Few competitors can provide customers
with a sizeable number of union-affiliated drivers, at one-time).
Another distinguishing feature of our competitive strategy is our ability
to safely and reliably transport more than 5 million pounds of freight
per day, for one shipper in one location. Very few of our competitors
could make such a claim. We can and we do.
